Astrakhan Theatre for Young People is one of the oldest theaters of this kind in Russia. It was founded back in 1933, when a group of enthusiastic amateurs made the first staging of the play by N. Shestakova, "Way Away". In the absence of the theater building of its own, production was shown on the stage of the Club of Trade.
