Historical Museum of Asenovgrad is located in the city center in a building constructed in 1895, which once housed the House of officers. The museum was founded in 1971 and has its exposition in three exhibition halls with a total area of ​​200 square meters. km. The collection contains about 1000 exhibits.

As a result of archeological excavations in Asen's Fortress, scientists have discovered a lot of things since the Middle Ages. In the section "Ethnography" presented costumes, jewelry, fabrics and household items.
