Church of All Saints is one of the oldest temples in the city of Arkhangelsk, located on the Bypass channel. Time of construction of the church is unknown. But according to the former mayor K.A.Averkievoy temple, the temple was built in 1864. The first mention of the Church of All Saints can be found in the Arkhangelsk Diocesan Gazette in 1889.

In 1927 the church was closed and turned into a storage room. There is evidence that in the 30 years in the church housed the transit point. On it is a mention in the book "The Gulag Archipelago," Alexander Solzhenitsyn, which tells of the misfortune that occurred in the building of the temple. His 8-tiered bunks collapsed, unable to withstand a large number of people and crushing each other a lot of people. They were quickly buried in the cemetery at the church. According to eyewitnesses, were destroyed the dome and bell tower, walled up windows, dismantled the furnace and floors, damaged plaster, wiring is cut.

In October 1946, at the insistence of parishioners, with the blessing of Bishop Leonty, the church was transferred to the Arkhangelsk diocese. Temple has been updated. The first rector was appointed abbot Father Seraphim (Shinkareva) translated to this place from the service of the Saint - Elias Cathedral. Seraphim was an outstanding organizer, parishioners loved him and respected him.

Parish Council was formed. In just 10 days, until November 1, 1946, the temple was carried out initial recovery.
