Ahmed Pasha Mosque Dzhenaby in Ankara on the street Uluchanlar. It was built, according to the inscription above the entrance, during the reign of Suleiman the Magnificent in 1566 in honor of the Anatolian and Rumelian beglerbeka Ahmed Pasha. Inside the mosque is the tomb of Ahmed Pasha, which has an octagonal shape. Beglerbek in Turkish means the prince of princes.
Erected by architect Sinan outstanding of red porphyry in the XVII century, the mosque is an architectural marvel and is considered the oldest mosque in Ankara. The most attractive part of the mosque is the prayer niche, made of white marble. It has a rectangular shape and covers an area 14x14 meters.
The mosque has three domes covered with tiles and a balcony, as well as a high minaret towering right of the entrance. Before entering built three large arches.
The interior is illuminated through thirty-two small windows, arranged in three rows. Under the ceiling hang large crystal chandeliers. In the northwest corner of the mosque there are several marble columns.
Restoration work carried out in the mosque twice - in 1813 and 1940.
