Next to the fort is a small Kaytbey Hydrobiological Museum. In 50 aquariums of the museum live fish, shellfish and corals, caught in the Nile, Mediterranean and Red seas. The biggest attraction of the museum was the skeleton of a 17-meter whale ejected in 1936 on the shore east of Alexandria.
