Zanzibar - "Island Preserve." Old stone town of Zanzibar - one of the most spectacular places on the coast. It's a chaotic cluster of winding maze of streets, with beautiful carvings, but, unfortunately, rapidly coming into disrepair, brass-studded doors. Endless little shops, bazaars, mosques, courtyards, fortresses, two former palace of the sultans, two huge cathedral, faded colonial mansions, abandoned bathhouse in the Persian style, and a whole collection of bizarre foreign consulates. Around the city are scattered various historical sites such as the ruined palace Maruhhubi, built in 1882 by Sultan Bargashem to keep it his harem, the ruins of several palaces and servants Mangapwani Cave, a unique forest Hosanna and more.
