Museum of Paleontology located in Helena, and is in Popnikolovom house, one of the oldest buildings that remain from the period of Bulgarian Revival (XVIII-XIX century). The museum is an architectural monument and a memorial to the construction of national importance. In the years 1980-1981 the building completely renovated and handed over to the University of Sofia St. Kliment Ohridski in educational and scientific purposes. While in the basement of the house staged a paleontological museum, which was created on the idea and under the supervision of academician and professor Todor Nikolov. He was awarded an Honorary Doctorate from the University of Toulouse in France.
The Museum of Paleontology, visitors can see a variety of materials from the collections of Todor Nikolov and chief researchers Stoycho Breskovskogo and Kristalina Stoykova.
