Austrian Parliament Building in Vienna is located on the Ringstrasse in Vienna's first district, close to the Hofburg Palace and the Palace of Justice. From 1918 till now held here meeting federal and NCAA. Until 1918, the building housed the Chamber of Deputies of Austria-Hungary.

The main building of the parliament building lasted from 1874 to 1883 by the architect Theophil Hansen in the Greek Revival style. He designed a building holistically, coordinating each item with others, including interior decoration: statues, paintings, furniture, chandeliers, and many other elements. After the completion of Theophil Hansen was awarded the title of Baron by Emperor Franz Joseph.

Fountain with the figure of Pallas Athena appeared in front of the main entrance in 1902. At present, this sculpture with a fountain is a popular tourist attraction.

In the turbulent years of the Austro-Hungarian Empire disputes between conservatives and liberals, nationalists and the German-speaking Czech MPs were so stormy that during the meetings were flying inkwells. In those days, the streets of the city were joking that Athena has an aversion to such a political struggle, and therefore turned back to the building.

The Chamber of Deputies continued to function until 1918, when the building was occupied by demonstrators before the fall of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. The building was renamed the "parliament" with the new Republican National Council and Federal Council. Parliament has ceased to function with the introduction of the fascist dictatorship and the annexation of Austria by Nazi Germany in 1938. Part of the building was destroyed during the war, but was rebuilt in the 50s.

Parliament House was located in an area of 13,500 square meters, has more than 100 rooms: lobby, meeting rooms, library. It hosts important state ceremonies.
