Literary-Memorial Museum MM Zoshchenko is located in St. Petersburg, in the building on Malaya Konyushennaya, in the apartment where the writer lived from 1954 to 1958 (the last years of his life).

In general, the museum is legally referred to as the St. Petersburg State Literary Museum "of the twentieth century", which appeared in the autumn of 2007. But it all started much earlier. The idea of creating a museum of the Leningrad Soviet literature emerged years with initiatives to preserve and transmit to future generations the memory of the unique cultural heritage of the twentieth century Leningrad. Not yet having its own premises, which could accommodate the exposition, the museum is developing a fund custodians writers search the archives, the library collects literature of the Soviet period.

The museum was formed on the basis of the memorial museum of M. Zoshchenko, because in his life if affected the fate of the Soviet culture of the twentieth century, with its pursuit of free speech, the rigid framework of censorship, terror, and at the same time with the ability to live a life of conscience and preserve their dignity.

Museum MM Zoshchenko was formed at the beginning of December 1988. Initially, he acted as a branch of the museum FM Dostoevsky, and in April 1993, the museum became independent when I opened the exposition. The museum is located in the last apartment in the famous writer's writer's former home on the Griboyedov Canal. At various times, together with Mikhail Mikhailovich in this house lived N. Z, Boris Kornilov, E. Schwartz, O. Forsch, Slonimsky, Eichenbaum, B. Tomaszewski and many other figures of art and literature.

In this house Zoschenko moved in 1934. Then he repeatedly changed his apartment, and in the last years of his life was in a small 2-uhkomnatnoy apartment. Currently, one of the rooms is a memorial, this - his cabinet. In II room, where once was the room of his wife Vera Vladimirovna is literary exposition.

The uniqueness of the museum is that of the writer in the office of all things - the original and the environment in which he lived from 1954 (other sources - in 1955) to 1958, reproduced with detailed precision. In the office you can see table on it - fragments of manuscripts, a typewriter - unfinished sheet glasses carelessly thrown, comfortable light is green, the bed - a bedside table, on it - a book on Gogol, on the counter - photos of parents. Looking at all these things, there is a feeling that penetrates into the difficult world of the writer, his life is a broken.

Modern literary exposition Zoshchenko Museum was opened in early 2004. It is the II-nd in a row permanent exhibition of the museum. It is interesting artistic design, which is presented on sheets of material feed-perekidkah. They can flip through, like a book that has made the exhibition as informative and interactive. And we are talking not only about the life and work of Zoshchenko, but the fate of the national culture of Leningrad literature of the twentieth century, the tragic stories of other inhabitants of the writer's house.

The emotional center of the exhibition is represented by the installation of water pipes, which, if in a time machine transports visitors into the atmosphere of the 20-30-ies of XX century. Here you can see an old coffee pot, radio, manual mill, spring balance, the heavy cast-iron iron and kerosene lamp.

The museum is unique because it is fully preserved environment workroom Zoshchenko and his personal belongings. It is also one of the few museums of St. Petersburg, which reflects the colorful history of literature of 1920-1930.

The museum organizes exhibitions, conducts research, work on the replenishment of the Fund. One of the main activities of the museum recently began to work with children.
