National Park Baconao - perhaps the most unusual place throughout Cuba, and the most original theme park in the country. Declared UNESCO Biosphere Reserve Park stretches 50 km between the Caribbean Sea and the mountains of the Sierra Maestra. It is only 20 km from the city of Santiago de Cuba.
The park has become famous throughout the world, primarily for its prehistoric valley, Lugh sculptures and Baconao Laguna. On an area covering more than 11 hectares, is located in a variety of sculptural compositions, more than 200 pieces of prehistoric animals since the Stone Age. Among them, the dinosaurs, mammoths, the people of the ancient tribes. All sculptures are made in full size.
Many interesting things can be found by visiting the prehistoric valley, so everybody is advisable to take a guide who will tell a lot of interesting facts from the life of the ancients. And do not forget about sun protection, as in the valley of the shadow at all. You must have a hat and water supply. In addition to viewing the exhibits on nature, the history of human evolution can be found by visiting the Museum of Natural History.
