Three brothers - the oldest complex of residential houses in the capital city of Latvia, located in the Old Town on the street Maza Pils (Little Castle). These three houses are preserved even in the 15th century. Today, they are located in the Museum of Architecture and the National Centre for the Protection of Monuments of Culture.

According to legend, three houses, huddled close to each other, really built the men belonging to the same genus. In medieval times, the street on which stand the house, located on the outskirts of the city. Here lived artisans. The house number 17, the oldest of the "brothers" was a craft workshop. It is assumed that the building was "the oldest brother" was built in 1490. The house has an austere architecture, the only decoration of buildings are 2 stone column located at the entrance. In this house was only one room, which was also used as a workshop, and how to shop, but also a place where people live. Until now preserved stone benches on either side of the door of the building, which are the characteristic features of the early Middle Ages.

The house number 19, which is the average "brother", is the most luxurious building in terms of architecture, among the three brothers. Unlike most older "brother", this house was a separate spacious living room with large windows, while the living quarters were on the courtyard side.

The youngest "brother" was built in the second half of the 17th century. In this house, on each floor there is a small apartment. The facade is decorated with a mask. Which, according to the author, was to serve as protection of the house from evil spirits.

In the period from 1955 to 1957. carried out the restoration of the "three brothers". The work was conducted under the project Peteris Saulitis by Mr. Janson. The wall has been walled stone portal, brought from the House of Blackheads lost fragment 1 Portal of the houses of Old Riga, as well as forged coat of arms, with the date 1554.
