On the waterfront of the city of Penza towering 25-meter-high stele with an inscription "Glory to the heroes". Glory Monument was inaugurated on 6 November 1967 in the central part of the city, the river Sura. The authors of the project were: the famous painter A. Oya, sculptor AA Fomin and architect LF Lofan. The monument depicts a stylized germ, makes its way to the world, for which he received the popular name of "Sprout". Portrait of stainless metal obelisk symbolizes the growth and prosperity of the Penza region and Russia as a whole.
Next to the monument of Glory is horizontal stele of the Karelian granite with a message for future generations. In 1967, representatives of three generations of Penza walled capsule in the northern end of the commemorative stele with reference to the future residents of the city, the grand opening is going to happen in 2017.
In 2011, the memorial has replenished the list of people that are proud of the Penza region: Knights of the Order of Glory and the St. George Cross, the Hero of Russia and the Soviet Union faithfully to serve the Fatherland.
Memorial complex of Glory "Rostock" is located in the eponymous park on the seafront, offering beautiful views of the Sura, part of the city across the river, the bridges.
