Museum of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences in Novosibirsk is located in a picturesque forest area of ​​the Botanical Garden in Akademgorodok Street Zolotodolinskaya. The museum was opened in 1991. The initiator of the museum was the founder of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR Academician MA Lawrence.

The museum of the Siberian Branch of RAS presented exhibits on the life and work of Lavrent'ev, as well as the basis of Akademgorodok and the local branch of Russian Academy of Sciences. In addition, there is some interesting information about the outstanding Siberian scientists of various scientific discoveries and scientific communities in Siberia.

The exhibition, devoted to the first chairman of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR - Academician Lavrent'ev, located in three spacious rooms. The first room is devoted to the so-called "dosoanovskomu" period in the biography of academician: its formation as a scientist and public figure. In the second hall reflects the creation of the Siberian Branch of the Academy of Sciences and the Novosibirsk Scientific Center: construction and opening of the institutions, international relations, the creation of new research centers in the Urals, training for science. In the third room of the museum contains materials that tell visitors about the merits of Academician Lavrent'ev not only at home but also abroad.

The main social function of the Museum is to document the development of national science and technology.

The museum collection consists of more than 1 thousand. Items, here came the means of instrumental bills, units of the first generation of Soviet electronic computers, examples of scientific instruments, the original design of the SB RAS, a unique collection of consumer and professional photographic equipment, radio equipment, the legendary GAZ-69, It belonged to Academician MA Lavrentiev.
