Convent of St. Irakli (Heracleides) is located in the southeastern part of the small village policy, which is not far from the ancient city Tomassos, Nicosia District. The monastery was built in honor of Heraclius, who lived at the turn of the I-II centuries. Irakli was considered a disciple of Peter, Barnabas and Mark, who made his first bishop Tomassosa.

St. Irakli played a really important role in the dissemination and promotion of Christianity in Cyprus, so it is especially revered by locals.

The monastery was built on the site of ancient cave temple, which is believed to be living saint, and after his martyrdom was buried. Since then, the monastery was destroyed and rebuilt numerous times, until in 1773 the then Archbishop Hrizantos not take her recovery. However, after some time the monastery was abandoned. But in 1962, under the initiative known for his active work of Archbishop Makarios, he was restored, and placed there a community of nuns. Now the inmates of the monastery, numbering about fifty, engaged in the production of honey and sweets manufacturer for sale.

Especially this monastery is famous for its beautiful Byzantine frescoes.
