Before the appearance of the town Vrbno fertile valley of three rivers Moravian not empty. For a start there were several castles. In the XIII century on the castle hill height of 854 meters it was founded Fürstenwalde castle, the ruins of which can still be seen today. It was built to protect the trade route passing in these places. The castle was large and included, in addition to the main residential building, two towers, a few selhozpostroek. All of this estate was surrounded by a wall thickness of 2 meters.

Then, near the castle Fürstenwalde were built two fortresses. As a result, the governor of Mikulas II in 1348 issued a decree on the establishment of the locks between the three villages. I must say that some semblance of the town at that time already existed. These miners came from the neighboring Silesia for the development of gold deposits. Introduced city Vrbno pod Pradedem, so named because of the whole valley reigned mountain Praděd, just became their home. However, the city rights settlement received only in 1611.

Preserved in the vicinity of the city and the ruins of two other castles called Weissenstein and Rabenstein. Numerous tourists arriving in Vrbno pod Pradedem, happy to go to storm them. These locks were founded at the end of the XIII century and played the role of customs offices.

While walking around the city you can see some beautiful churches, including the Church of St. Michael in the eponymous square. It was built in 1837-1844 in the style of the Empire, and since then has not rebuilt. It was originally supposed to attach to it two towers, but during the work on the temple was discovered Architectural error, and by the construction of the second tower had to be abandoned.
