The Castle and park complex Hlučín part of the historical center of the city of the same name and is located next to the church of John the Baptist. It is recognized as a cultural monument of the Czech state, is mentioned in all the guidebooks, and his visit is one of the main reasons for which thousands of tourists every year come in Hlucin.

Initially Hlucin wooden fortress was built, which houses a garrison of well-trained soldiers. Since the city was considered the border, his defense has received considerable attention. The wooden Gothic fort was rebuilt in stone castle, which was first mentioned in literature in 1439. The researchers suggest that the first was built the southern wing of the castle, and only later were added to it other parts.
In 1525 the castle was rebuilt on the orders of the owners of the city - rich aristocrats who wished to use the castle as his residence. At the end of the XVI century it was built recently - east - wing, decorated through-arcades.
XVII century brought a lot of trouble castle: it burned several times and then rebuilt again. And last reconstruction held the famous Italian architect J. Vlach. In the XIX and XX centuries, the castle was altered many times.
