Murom History and Art Museum - a museum Murom edge. The beginning of his creation is by 1918. It was first opened to the public in January 1919. The premises of the museum housed in the House of Zworykin.

From 1974 to 1989 the museum along with other museums in the area of ​​the city as a branch entered in the Vladimir-Suzdal Museum-Reserve. Later, from 1989 to 1997, it functioned as an independent museum unit, subject to the City Department of Culture. In 1997, the Museum was registered as a municipal cultural institution, reporting to the Office of Culture Murom. Since 2007, Murom museum is located in the regional subordination, and has the status of a particularly valuable object of cultural heritage of the area (since 2009).

The museum has valuable historical and art collections, which are located in four complexes of buildings that are architectural monuments.
