Kalarashovsky Holy Dormition nunnery is located on the territory of the protected area Călărăşeuca, on the banks of the Dniester. The monastery complex includes two churches, living cells, bishop of the house. Here are three of the spring, the water of which has healing properties. On three sides of the holy monastery is surrounded by cliffs and wild forests. On one of the rocks you can see a stone cave, which is installed near the cross. It was here 500 years ago settled the first monk, and the cave itself formed the basis of the monastery.

Originally, this place was built a wooden church, which was rebuilt in 1780 in stone church of the Holy Protection of the Mother of God.
After almost seventy years - namely, in 1853, the monastery at the expense of Princess Cantacuzino was built another stone church, which was consecrated on the day of St. Mitrophan Voronezh.

Until 1916, the monastery was Kalarashovsky purely masculine, but during the war came here a large number of Russian nuns of Polish cities. The number of sisters has increased steadily, in connection with this monastery converted into a female and expanded.

In 1961 came the hard times for the monastery and its inhabitants. Churches closed, confiscated icons and iconostasis destroyed, and the premises handed over to the needs of the tuberculosis dispensary, and later - a school for mentally retarded children. And only in 1991 due to the request of Metropolitan Vladimir, the church was returned to believers, work began on its restoration.

At present the restoration of the Cathedral of St. Mitrofan, and the Holy Protection Church, which was built in the old Moldavian style. Work is underway on the construction of new dwellings for nuns, dining room, swimming pool with healing water from the source.
