Budslau Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary - a majestic Catholic church, built in the late Baroque style in the years 1767-1783. This stone three-nave basilica with a two-tiered towers.
According to ancient legend (confirmed by information from the chronicles), in 1504 in the place, which later became the city Budslau came four monks, who in addition to axes and charters granted them Alexander Jagiellon, was nothing. The monks did not know how to build a house, so built a strange hut and began to pray in it. Belarusian word sounds like a tent Budan. Hence the name of the city Budslau.
In 1588, on the monks' chambers was unprecedented divine sign. From shining cloud appeared the Virgin Mary with Child in her arms and said, "Since that time, the glory of our God, and my son and my defense will be given to you forever."
In Budslav church houses one of the greatest Catholic shrines - Budslau icon of the Mother of God. In 1996, Pope John Paul II declared the patroness of the icon in Belarus. Celebration in honor of the holy icon is celebrated annually on June 2nd. The temple attracts pilgrims not only from all parts of Belarus, but also from other countries.

In 1994, John Paul II's Church Budslav given the status of "minor basilica" (basilisa minoris). This honorary title is awarded to the temple by the Vatican only special temples in very rare cases, to highlight the crucial role of the church for Catholics. In a side chapel of the church, built in 1643, is a unique altar with paintings and 20 sculptures.
