Photo: Master Vilhena Palace in Mdina
Near the main gate of the palace of Master Vilhena. The building was built in the XVIII century. Later the building was used as a hospital. Today it houses the Museum of History and Local History, the exhibition which presents archaeological finds, household items, and medieval antiquities.
Nearby is the descent into the underground passages and chambers of prison under the palace. Wax figures represent the inhabitants and "interior" prison since the Middle Ages: the bloody torture, decapitated heads, the punishment of prisoners and so forth.
