Memorial to victims of the occupation regime "Prison on Lontskoho" - is one of the attractions of the city of Lviv, located on the street Karl Briullov. Memorial to victims of the occupation regime was opened in a room in which a very long time housed the secret police of various powers. The building was built for the Austrian gendarmerie, in the late XIX century, at the crossroads of the current streets of Bandera and Copernicus. Once, in the premises of the prison had been equipped for the German, Polish and Soviet authorities.

In 1941 this place was destroyed by the largest number of political prisoners across the Western Ukraine, as it housed the remand prison of the Gestapo. In 1944-1991 gg. the building was the investigation department and the detention facility of the NKVD, and in 1991-2009 gg. - Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine.

In 2009, with the help of the Ukrainian Security Service and the Centre for Research liberation movement, prison was turned into a museum. The museum has reproduced a realistic prison conditions of former times.
