South Karelia Museum, founded in 1963, is an integral part of the museum complex of the city of Lappeenranta. It is located in the old limestone buildings of the XIX century., Intended for artillery depots, in the fortress Linnoytus.

The museum contains exhibits that are relevant to the history of yuzhnokarelskoy culture and the culture of the Karelian Isthmus, view of the city - Lappeenranta, Vyborg and Priozersk.
