Former Imperial fishing lodge built on the rapids of the river Langinkoski, Grand Duke of Finland Alexander III in 1889, in a conservation area, a few years is a Finnish estate for summer holidays of the royal family. It is located in a beautiful park with Orthodox chapel beginning of the XIX century., Built by the monks of the Valaam monastery for Orthodox events here.
A two-storey house is very well preserved. The eyes of visitors appears massive furniture made of Karelian birch, arranged in the living room, kitchen, office and bedroom.
A favorite pastime of Empress Maria Feodorovna while in Langinkoski was to prepare different dishes for your family and the emperor spent his spare time, enthusiastically watching fishing.
After the death of Alexander III locals established in 1896 in memory of him a stone with an inscription that the emperor is enjoying peace and comfort under the protection of his loyal people.
Currently, Langinkoski allowed only to recreational fishing bloodworms. The museum has installed a fake 36-pound salmon life-size, caught in 1896, a local fisherman.
