State Russian Drama Theatre. Anton Chekhov - one of the most visited and popular theater of the Republic of Moldova, located in the capital - the city of Chisinau.

The history of the famous theater roots in 1934. It was at this time in Tiraspol organized the first stationary theater of Russian drama, led by the talented artist and theater-goer - MP Zubov. Six years later, namely in 1940, the theater moved to Chisinau, in the building of the former theater of "Express". In Chisinau theater back in 1944 and immediately began touring in Moldova, show performances in the central square and sat on the back of farm machinery, instead of the scene.
