The temple in honor of the Holy Great Martyr Paraskeva is situated in the heart of Kazan, near the Kremlin. In 1566, at the beginning of the street B.Krasnaya wooden church was built with the chapel of St. Nicholas of Zaraysk Paraskeva. The wooden church was burned in a fire in 1579. In the form in which the temple there is now, it was founded in 1726. Completed construction was in 1728. At the same time the church was consecrated. The temple was built in the style of Russian baroque. The form of the temple - a traditional octagon on the quadrangle. The height of the temple is 22 meters. In 1923, the church made the likeness of the museum. It was taken to the shrine of the destroyed or closed churches and monasteries. In 1937, the church was turned into a prison. It shot those who were sentenced to death. Shot, buried just inside the church and outside it. In the 1950s the church was abandoned, the bell tower collapsed. A new story begins in 1993, when the temple transferred to the Ministry of Culture. Restoration work began. The plans of the Ministry was to create a museum of icons. In 1996, the church handed the Kazan diocese.

During the restoration work revealed that the entire temple was a cemetery. Human remains carefully collected and buried. At a mass grave in the yard of the church installed a marble cross. In 2004 on this place we built a tomb in which lie the remains of the slain. The four-iconostasis, with the blessing of Archbishop of Kazan, in honor of the martyrs painted in red.
