Kallithea - a cosmopolitan resort on the east coast of Kassandra (Halkidiki), about 50 km south of Polygyros and 90 km from Thessaloniki.

Modern Kallithea was founded in 1925 by immigrants from Asia Minor. Prior to 1950, the settlement was called "Maltepe", and its inhabitants were engaged in agriculture and animal husbandry. Today the population of Kalithea is a little over 500 people. Most of the locals involved in tourism.

Today Kallithea - one of the most popular resorts in the region. His gorgeous beaches with fine golden sand and crystal-clear waters, magnificent landscapes and scenic pine, sometimes going down to the water, as well as excellent infrastructure attract thousands of tourists from all over the world. In Greek Kallithea means "beautiful view" and this is absolutely untrue. Kallithea Beach is a repeated winner of the honorary "blue flag".

The choice of housing in Kaliti is very large and diverse. You will find here as huge luxury hotel complexes and cozy small hotels and comfortable apartments. Delight and abundance of a variety of restaurants, taverns and cafes. Fans of the night hanging out can have a good time in the nightclubs of Kalithea. For active tourists there are provided a variety of water sports as well as horseback riding, tennis and much more.

The main attractions of Kallithea, certainly, is a sanctuary of Zeus Ammon and Dionysius, and the small church of St. Panteleimon with interesting murals. In the sanctuary of Zeus, archaeologists have unearthed an altar dating from the 5th century BC and a part of the temple built in the second half of the 4th century BC (some structures are 2-1 centuries BC). The cult of the god Dionysius and his more ancient sanctuary dates back to the 8th century BC
