Cathedral of St. Peter

Cathedral of St. Peter was built in the XI century. Later it was rebuilt several times. Two symmetrical 98-meter tower was restored at the end of the XIX century. With their height a magnificent view of the entire city. The building was badly damaged during the Second World War, but by now it is completely restored.

At first the church was Catholic and then Lutheran, which led to a confusion of styles in its interiors. The interior is decorated with bas-reliefs of sandstone. On the seats of chairs in the choir can see the scenes of the Passion and the Battle of Judah Maccabee. Of particular interest is the carved Baroque chair of 1638, made donations to Queen Christina of Sweden.

Western and eastern crypt - the most ancient part of the temple. Here you can see ancient sculpture of Christ in 1050, and the Romanesque font of the XII century with 38 bas-reliefs.
