National Park Noel Kempff Mercado National Park is the pride and heritage of the entire Amazon basin. It is located in the northeastern part of the country. By area, it is one of the largest in the world - 1, 5 million hectares. Of course, such a vast territory is represented by several ecosystems. This wooded savannah and mountains, evergreen Amazonian forests. Rich flora and fauna of the tropics, wooded savannas, rocky cliffs and waterfalls will not leave anyone indifferent. Scientists believed that the geological age of the area - more than a billion years. In the park Noel Kempff Mercado National Park there are about 4,000 species of plants, 130 species of mammals inhabit, there are 620 species of birds, 70 reptiles and many other animals. It noted many species and populations that are considered rare and endangered.

The park was named after the famous Professor Noel Kempff Mercado, who devoted his entire life to the study of wildlife and study the history of the reserve. In 2000 the National Park was included in the UNESCO list of World Heritage of Humanity.
