Several small villages in the territory of the Val de Boi, nestled among the peaks of the Pyrenees, and relating to the autonomous community of Catalonia, there are nine beautiful churches built in the Romanesque style. Located in the nature of incredible beauty of these churches in 2000, joined the UNESCO World Heritage List and received the status of national historical and architectural monuments of Spain. Time miraculously almost touched the impressive buildings of the churches - through the centuries they have managed to preserve and convey to us his images almost unchanged. Built of stone, its powerful and majestic architecture, so typical of the architecture of the Romanesque period, the church resemble fortresses. The inner walls of the nine churches decorated with magnificent ancient frescoes, dating from about 1123 a year. The frescoes have been partially restored, and today they are considered among the best of the period.
