In the north of Spain, near the center of the Pyrenees Mountains, the stunning natural park Aigüestortes. The main part of the park, which has the status of national, covers an area of ​​just over 14 thousand. Hectares with a height difference between 1000 to 3000 meters above sea level. The park was founded in 1955 and is the only national natural park in the territory of Catalonia.

The park is considered to be the true heritage of the country .  It managed to keep the wild in all the richness of the flora and fauna peculiar to the region .  Flora and fauna represented in the park, due to its location the most part at an altitude higher than 1,000 meters above sea level .  With the ascent to the steep slopes of the Pyrenees ridge meadows that lie at their feet, are replaced by deciduous forests at low altitudes, go to Evergreen at medium altitudes and end alpine pastures .  Deciduous forests are predominantly fluffy oak, ash and hazel .  At the height of 1500-200 m grow mostly black pine, spruce, in direct sunlight common juniper .  You can also see a mountain ash, blueberries and rhododendrons .  On the alpine pastures at an altitude of over 2300 meters flora is represented mainly by alpine vegetation, such as different kinds of gentian, buttercup .  Living on the territory of the park fauna - it's basically a chamois, stoats, martens, squirrels, deer and many species of birds .
