On the territory of Alatyr central district hospital is the Church of the Iberian Mother of God, built in 1846 at the expense of Specific department. The building of the church is rectangular in plan, and is topped by a large dome and onion in small twin turrets.
Construction of the Iberian church was associated with the opening of the first female Alatyrsky school for peasant children, created in May 1845.
