Near the city administration Alatyr, between Central Park "Fairy Tale" and Veterans Park is the church of the Holy Cross, built in 1826 on the site of the original wooden church.
Today the church is decorated with Vozdvizhenskaya Alatyr center, and in the eighteenth century, this place was a margin, a significant part of which is the city cemetery. On the territory of the necropolis and the temple was placed trёhprestolny attributed to the Nativity Cathedral. The main altar of the church was consecrated in honor of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross, and the side chapels - in the name of All Saints and Mother of God "Burning Bush". The temple was built in the typical style of the province of the nineteenth century. The architectural decoration of facades is executed in classical Russian style - large triple window, stepped cornices, rustication and pilasters. In Soviet times, the temple became parish and cemetery gradually built up with new objects.
