Fountain Elisenbrunnen - the unique beauty of structure, built in the 19th century in the German city of Aachen. This city has long been famous for its thermal springs and Elisenbrunnen fountain has become one of the most famous and beautiful rooms with thermal water supplied from the Imperial power.

The fountain was named after the daughter of King Maximilian I, Princess Elizabeth Louis of Bavaria - Eliza. The foundation of the building was laid on 16 November 1822 at the Friedrich Wilhelm Square in honor of the 25th anniversary of the reign of King Friedrich Wilhelm III. The project is a fountain designed by Johann Peter Cremer and Karl Friedrich Schinkel, and resulted in the execution of Aachen architect Andreas Hansen. Begun in 1824, the construction of the fountain, the back side which was built on the former site of the city wall since the Middle Ages, was completed in 1827.

Since then, the famous fountain was visited by many guests enjoyed the purpose of healing mineral water having a temperature of 46 degrees and a characteristic smell of hydrogen sulphide due to the large amounts of sulfur, and enjoy the beauty Elisenbrunnen. There have been and there are historical figures like Peter I, Frederick the Great, Giacomo Casanova and others that displayed on a plaque located on the walls of the fountain.

Unfortunately, during the Second World War the fountain was almost completely destroyed, but it was successfully restored in its original form in the 1950s, so that it pleases the visitors to this day. In our time there often hold exhibitions and dance evenings of salsa and tango.
