Museum of Sacred Art is housed in the cathedral of Viseu, a beautiful Romanesque building. The museum's collection is on several floors, but most exposures are concentrated in the Chapter House, whose walls are decorated with paintings of azulezush tiles in the style of the XVIII century, depict scenes of battles, as well as scenes from the hunting life.

Among the exhibits on display in the House of the Chapter, presented two golden coffer from Limoges XVIII century, made of ivory monstrance end of the XV century, the Gospel of the XII century, two chalice of gold and silver of the XVII century, as well as an illustrated manuscript on parchment XIII-XIV century. Individual attention, works of sculpture, especially sculpture of Saint Isabel of the XVI century and the image of the Archangel Raphael and Tobias XVIII century hand famous master Machado de Castro. All items in the collection of the museum are arranged chronologically, from XIII to XVIII century.

In addition, visitors can see the gold jewelry and religious objects used in worship, and to consider priestly vestments, silk coverlets, embroidered with silver, and items, embroidered with gold thread. The museum's exhibits are of great historical value, among them - the Byzantine pectoral cross and the processional cross made of carved silver in 1754. Among other interesting objects of the museum - a wooden box with pictures of the Romanesque period, which depict scenes from the poetry of the chivalric exploits.
