Natural Park "Tiber River" is located, as the name implies, in the valley of the River Tiber, to be exact - on both sides of the southern part of the river from the border towns of Montecastello di Vibio and Todi to the southern tip of Lake Alviano.

50-kilometer part of the Tiber River was blocked by a dam built in the town of Corbara for the production of electricity - so were born Corbara lake and wetlands Alviano. Despite the many changes done to the environment by man, blocking the river contributed to the creation of a minimum fine and important from an environmental point of view of natural systems. The abundance of water here makes it possible to grow grapes and olives. In addition, the park is very developed tourism, primarily environmental. On both sides of the park are interesting medieval Italian cities - Orvieto and Todi. In the park you can visit a number of other, smaller but no less attractive villages, famous for its welcoming atmosphere and breathtaking scenery. Thus, "Tiber River" - a real mix of history, art and nature.

In the town Montemolín Tiber flowing water at such a rate that he was nicknamed "Il Furioso" - violently. As we approach the Todi they slow down the run, and is here the river is known as the "Tevere Morto" - Dead Tiber. Once again, gathering speed from Pontekuti where river banks are overgrown with alder, willow and poplar trees, and after merging with Nayey Tiber for nearly 8 km flows through the gorge Forelli. Steep cliffs, vertically growing out of the water, covered with holly, hornbeam trees, heather, broom and laurel (the latter is particularly common in Vallone della Paskvarella). In this part of the park is home to buzzards, sparrow hawk and vultures. A little further on, on the border of the lake Corbara, you can see wild ducks, tufted ducks, herons and kingfishers. In the waters of the lake inhabited by carp, eels and other fish species, making Corbaro popular holiday destination among lovers of fishing.

After the dam flows into the Tiber River Paglia, and a couple of kilometers starting wetlands Alviano, who became an important stopping point for thousands of migratory birds. Since the 1990s, this area, which has the status of the reserve, is controlled by WWF - the World Wildlife Fund.

The area along the Tiber for hundreds of years served as an important transport route. Here you can see traces of human activity, ranging from prehistoric times, such as in caves Titinyano. In the Vallone di San Lorenzo and the Montagues were found ancient burial sites in Pagliano - the ruins of the ancient port, and during excavations in Skoppetto were found Roman pottery.

Excursions to the natural park "Tiber River" can be in the town of Montecastello di Vibio. In Montemolín provide rental equipment for fishing. A Pontekuti, once a former fortified outpost, starting several hiking and biking trails - they start from the Bailey bridge built by US troops during the Second World War.
