Gazebo - is a small but very beautiful furniture, located in the heart of the city of Sumy in the area of ​​the Intercession, among a beautiful park. Translated from the Polish language "gazebo" means "easy construction in the park", "outdoor terrace".

There are two versions of how the city appeared in this beautiful building. According to the first version, the gazebo has been erected on the site of a philistine Leszczynski had previously been here well, which was drilled in the search for oil. Unfortunately, the search for oil has not produced any results, but now the city has such a wonderful building of carved wood. On the basis of a different version, the designer of the future character of Sumy district council made a draftsman Matthew Shavelev city - a native of Kursk province, according to the drawings of which approximately 1900-1905 years. and it was built by local Gazebo.

By the way, gazebo Gazebo is the only wooden structure in the city, which was not damaged during the Great Patriotic War.

Gazebo, having clearly matured forms of "Russian style" refers to such a unique urban development in the direction of architecture as Historicism, as well as an example of small architectural structures. In appearance, Gazebo is open octagonal wooden terrace, located on a high brick plinth and floors cruciform vaulted roof with a faceted dome. The diameter of the construction - about 6 m, height - 10 m.
