For two centuries Mikhalkov collected historical and artistic treasures in his estate. When you create the collection, they did not adhere to any particular style directions. By the early 20th century manor house "Peter" was a veritable museum of interest in historical and artistic terms.

The best collection in 1910. Mikhalkov was transferred to the Russian Academy of Sciences. In 1915, they donated Rybinsk books that formed the basis of the County Library. After the nationalization of Petrovsky in the 1920s, all the valuable objects of art, as well as an ancient way of life passed in Rybinsk Museum. They are today the basis of his collection.

During the time of Peter the Great on the estate was built church. There are also preserved buildings of the period of 19 - early 20th centuries. Today in the ensemble of the manor "Petrovsky" includes: the main house; House deacon, a water tower, a house manager; office-house for visitors, stables; hut, an outbuilding for Kucherov, a hospice and the tomb.

According to one legend, a favorite of Anna Ivanovna, the Duke of Biron, who was ousted during a palace coup and sent into exile, passing by the Petrovsky, decided to stay here for the night in the house Mikhalkov. He was invited to spend the night in the bath due to the absence of the owners of the house.

The manor is surrounded by a picturesque park created fortress in the middle of the 18th century. The park is formed in the regular style with the addition of landscaped corners in accordance with the common while mixed type of plan. First, before the main manor house was broken large formal garden with flower beds, pergolas and trellises. In the years 1820-1840 the park was extended to the north to Poshehonsky tract, and on the east side of the house was built an artificial hill with a gazebo, rotunda. In the post-revolutionary period manor house with a park crossed state. The park sees summer mass celebrations, brass band. Park "Peter" in Soviet times was called Zavolzhsky recreation park. Today, the architectural buildings of the estate operates Cadet School.
