The most famous square of Baroque Rome is located on the former site of the Stadium of Domitian. Beginning with the reign of Domitian, this place used exclusively for sports. The remains of the stadium can still be seen under the church of Sant Agnese John agony, dedicated to the Virgin-Martyr, which at this point a miracle occurred: instantly otrosshie thick hair hid the nakedness 13-year-old Christian, exposed to the Gentiles to be mocked. The facade of the church is made in the 1650s by the architect Borromini.

The main attraction of the area - Fountain of the Four Rivers Lorenzo Bernini, made in 1651 and caused great admiration of Pope Innocent X, who has since become the artist to provide the protection. Fountain figures are personifications of the rivers - the Danube, the Ganges, the Nile and the Rio de la Plata. The figures are arranged around the rivers rocky reef on which rises the ancient obelisk.

Angle goes to the square the Palazzo Braschi, which houses the Museum of City History. At the corner of a building near the cap is ancient statue with an ugly countenance - Pasquino. Statue found during the laying of the foundation of the building. For some time now on the neck of the statue began to appear leaflets with ironic commentary on the various events.
