Youth Theatre in Omsk - is one of the favorite places of cultural activities in the city. Omsk theater, better known as the Omsk Theatre for Young People (theater for young children), was founded in 1937. The initiators of its creation became the city children's and youth organizations, with the support of teachers and artists.

Opening Spectators held in May 1937 in the name of the club Lobkova. The first performance was called "To Be Continued ...". Among the first actors of the theater was a VJ Dvorzhetsky. During the war, the performances on the stage of Young Spectator's Theatre staged the famous Russian director and actor NP Okhlopkov, who was in Omsk in the evacuation.

Toured the theater began in 1954 Performances Spectators Omsk first seen in Anzhero-Sudzhensk, then in Novosibirsk, Chelyabinsk and Dnepropetrovsk. A little later, the troupe visited Yalta, Feodosia and Yevpatoria.

In 1966, local authorities have allocated for the construction of the theater land. In 1967, it got its own building, which houses today. For nearly seven decades of fruitful work at the Theatre of the Young Spectator in Omsk it was delivered more than 400 performances. The Drama Theatre, in addition to the good performances of the classical repertoire, put bright and unforgettable performances for children.

Omsk theater troupe consists of 33 people, among them works such distinguished Russian musicians as V. Rostov, A. ringing, L. Yakovleva, Abramov and V. Tzaptashvilli.

Each year the theater for children and young people holds the city festival called "Autumn meeting at the Youth Theatre," which is dedicated to the city of Omsk and its viewers. Also, every year in May held a mini-festival "Theatre for Young People - the children of the village." These days, the theater meets within its walls schoolboys from all areas of the field.

Omsk Theatre for Young People is a member of the International Festival of Theatre for Children "Rainbow", the festival "Siberian Transit" and "Theatre without borders". The initiator and organizer of this work stands head of the theater Sokolova.
