Near the hotel "Bristol" in Karlovy Vary, you can see the church from a red stone. It is somewhat reminiscent of the English chapel - discreet, modest and aspirations to God and Heaven. The similarity is no accident: it is the Anglican Church of St. Luke, created at the expense of British holidaymakers.

The British, as well as Russian, spent a lot of time in the resort of Karlovy Vary, adjusting health, relaxing in a local casino and tying to anything non-binding novels. They felt at home here, but the climate here was not much better than raw, inhospitable England. For a complete happiness British tourists are not enough churches, where they could be alone and talk with God. And then on the Castle Hill it was found a comfortable place where donations British holidaymakers master YozefSlovak began construction of a new church, which was consecrated in the name of St. Luke.

The church was built in the shape of a cross. It is crowned by a wooden tower with a small gallery. The temple consists of two aisles, rests on thick columns and different unbleached walls that give the church raid romantic and exotic.

The church received its first visitors in 1877. She regularly worked for more than 30 years, but then was closed for restoration. Nowadays service it does not take place, but you can get in the middle. The Anglican church is a museum of wax figures.
