Building of the former city market is located near the bus station. Walk to it from the historic center takes about half an hour.

It appeared only in 1912-1913, before Karlovy Vary, of course, had a trading floor, which sold fresh fruit and vegetables, meat, fish, dairy products and household items. Place suddenly became popular and among the visitors. Vacationers made promenade, and at the same time buying the products. Still, it was located far from the historic center, so since 1903 the magistrate begin discussing the construction of a completely new market, which will be much closer to the colonnade with the sources. And when the market was to be located a service that would monitor the quality of products sold.

The building of the city market was built of reinforced concrete, the architect made man, who heads the Department of Construction in Carlsbad - famous architect F. Fractional.

Apart from a small trading pavilions, inside the market were provided space for offices, warehouses, cold stores, packing room. The space is also filled to the market stalls.

At the end of the twentieth century, this roomy historic building has been given a trading company that has placed him in the supermarket "Albert".
