At the factory outside the town Jesenik is the house at number 176, which, according to local legend, was previously owned by the local executioner. However, the Czech historians believe that these legends are not true. The house, called the Czech Katovnoy was simple dacha mansion built in the Rococo style in 1782.

However, locals are convinced that in this house once dwelt the executioner, he converted one of the rooms of his mansion under the torture room. Near the house you can see a cross with the name of the performer City Court sentences - Martin Wagner. The cross was found on a field outside the city in 1901. It is interesting that on the cross only initials indicated that the representatives of the tourist community Jesenik confident deciphered as the first letter of the name and the names of the local executioner, who was killed by the Swedes. Historians believe that the executioner named Martin Wagner was never in Jesenik. Once there, however, people living with these initials, but his name was Michal Waxman. The unofficial name "Katovna 'house was in the 70s of the last century. It was then that gloomy romance of the place has attracted the attention of many tourists.

House executioner was rebuilt several times. Significant renovation took place in the XIX and early XX centuries. Last presently repairs took place in 1961. The most famous resident of this house is considered to be the clerk by the name of Joseph Kreutzer, in the service of the local prince. He owned a mansion that in the 80 years of the XVIII century.
