Archeological Park Champaner-Pavagadh Archaeological Park is located in the district panchmahals, Gujarat. It was established on the site of the city of Champaner, built in the 8th century on top of the Pavagadh hill, which rises to 800 meters above sea level. In the 16th century the city was captured Begda Mahmood, Sultan of Gujarat. It was then rebuilt Champaner, it is transferred to the foot of the hill, renamed Muhammadabad, and it became the capital of Gujarat.
