The building of the former Royal Chancery of Granada was located in the Plaza Nueva - New Square, which is located near the center of the city on one side and Carrera del Darro - on the other. This area is one of the main squares in the city, besides the Royal Chancery is located a few major urban buildings, for example, Pisa House. In ancient times, this area organize various tournaments and competitions, as well as bullfights.

Royal Chancery was the seat of the Supreme Court since 1587. Throughout the 16th century, this body is becoming more influence and authority. Currently this building is the Palace of Justice.

Building of the Royal Chancery, whose construction was begun in 1531 by order of the King of Spain Carlos I, was the first building in Spain, built specifically to house the judiciary here .  Simple and yet elegant façade, created in Renaissance style, beautiful suits his purpose and use as the House of Justice .  Royal Chancery was built by the famous architect Francisco del Castillo Porter .  The work also involved masons Martin Diaz de Navarrete and Pedro Marin, author of the sculpture was Alonso Hernandez, beautiful courtyard was created by prominent architect of Siloam Diego .  The facade is decorated with arched entrance, marble Doric columns, the upper railing and stone cornices, decorated with carved leaves made of stone .  Chancery Building was completed during the reign of Philip II in 1587 .

Former Palace of the Royal Chancery of Granada declared a cultural monument, now here sits the Supreme Court of Andalusia.
