Lichtentaler Allee traces its history to 1655, takes place on the left bank of the river Oos. It stretches from the square to the Goethe Klosterplats, near the monastery Lichtenthal, at 2300 meters. In the seventeenth century it was a country road, which connected the Abbey with the town's main square. First oaks along the road appeared in 1655, and in the years 1850-1870 there were numerous trees and shrubs, planted the flowers bloom and the road turned into a huge beautiful park. The storm swept in 1999, to uproot centuries-old trees in the alley, but soon the place of felled trees planted new ones, and the park completely restored the old grandeur and beauty. In the alley is the oldest hotel in Baden-Baden, where according to legend, at the ball in 1812 met and quarreled Alexander I and Napoleon Bonaparte.

Not far from the Lichtentaler avenue is home to many of the attractions of Baden-Baden. On the right there is a museum of art Feeder Burda, where you can see paintings by contemporary authors. Here it is located near the museum and the city, but on the contrary the most luxurious and expensive hotel "Brenner's". After crossing the bridge decorated with angels you get to the park roses, where you can see the unique fountain "Josephine."

By Lichtentaler alley Turgenev loved to walk on the site of two of his favorite bench, and today there are benches that invite to sit in silence and tranquility to think about something important, or just relax.
