The rich history of Trinity Church in Ulm similar to the stories of other monastic churches in the city. The construction, reconstruction, demolition and restoration - all experienced this magnificent building in the Renaissance style.
Outside the city walls, near the east gate in 1281 the Dominican Order acquired land and began construction of a large monastery. In 1305, the building of the Holy Trinity church was completed and consecrated. During the Reformation, which started in Ulm in 1531, the Dominicans left the monastery and began a period of decline and gradual destruction of the church. Only for a short time, it was revived in 1547 for the funeral of his wife deceased brother of Charles V.

In its original form it has been preserved only Gothic altar, and on the old foundation was built a new building in the Renaissance style. Since 1809 the church of St. Trinity became a parish for the inhabitants of the so-called "Lower City". Until the mid-20th century, the building underwent numerous reorganizations and changes in interior decoration, including the replacement of the body. Excellent acoustics earned high praise, until 1944, and regularly hosts concerts of organ music.
As a result of falling bombs December 17, 1944 Trinity church was almost completely destroyed, he survived a bell tower and part of the exterior walls. After a few decades, it was decided to restore the building in 1977, has been restored in its original form dome tower, the rest of the interior and exterior of the church was significantly changed.
