One of the famous sights of Ulm - Sv.Sebastyan Chapel - was built in the Gothic style. 1415 is considered to be if not the date of construction, the year when the chapel was first mentioned in connection with the city. Almost a hundred years here was one of the Franciscan church, in other words, the building was used for other purposes.
Located in the quarter Auf dem Kreuz, a chapel was almost completely destroyed, and for a long time was not restored for various reasons. However, in the 20th century the city authorities turned their attention to the building, which has undoubted historic value. Among the monuments of the Middle Ages in the chapel to this day preserved cross vaults of the choir, unique in its kind. In addition, the interest and the frieze of the nave, decorated with a traditional ornament for those times, intricately woven in the royal lilies.
In the early 18th century, the building of the chapel was changed, in particular, it received an add-in the form of half-timbered second floor. I must say that the appearance of the building has become more attractive when it comes from a tourist point of view. In the 20th century, architects have worked on the restoration of the building and now it is one of the famous galleries, which are considered to exhibit in honor of many contemporary artists.
