House-Museum Hadji Dimitar in the town of Sliven is one of the most famous local tourist sites.

The building, located in one of the oldest districts of Sliven, was built in the late XVIII century grandfather Hadji Dimitar. The property is a typical example of architecture of that time - a small house, the second floor of which - a large attic space used for housing. May 10, 1840 Dimitar Asenov was born here - the famous Bulgarian governor, a fighter for the liberation of Bulgaria from the Ottoman yoke, went down in history under the name of Hadji Dimitar.

Earlier, next door to the apartment building was a hotel, which, together with a terrace house and the fence was destroyed in 1930.

The house was turned into a museum in 1935. By the time the opening was the extent possible, restored the interior of the room belonged Hadji Dimitar. Twenty years in the building of the museum opened its first exhibition devoted to the life and activity of the national freedom fighter. In the period from 1969 to 1975 were carried out in a complex restoration work. Currently restored image of the premises prior to the period of Liberation.

On the second floor, visitors can see a large exhibition devoted to Hadji Dimitar and other prominent historical figure - the leader of the squad of fighters against Ottoman rule, Stephen Karaj. Both magistrates were killed on the battlefield in 1868. Among the items presented here: weapons, maps, household items, personal belongings, photographs and accurately recreated copies of banner and form the members of the rebel group.

Part of the museum is an inn with adjoining outbuildings and a wine cellar.
