Maritime Museum was opened in 1962 in the west wing of the Monastery of Jeronimos in Belem. Here you can see many models of boats, fishing boats, sailing ships and caravels, and a variety of navigational instruments, the astrolabe, nautical charts and stone crosses, which were installed by the Portuguese open their lands. Also on display are models of modern and Portuguese ships.
