Former estate Stanislav - country residence of the last king of the Commonwealth Stanislaw August Poniatowski. This magnificent palace was built in 1760-1770 years in baroque style by the Italian architect Giuseppe Sacco - a popular court architect of King Poniatowski.
In the semi-circular bay window of the main rectangular building emblazoned manor personal monogram of King Stanisław August three letters SAR - short for Stanislaus Augustus Rex (Stanislaw August, King). To have survived two wings built on both sides of the main building: the right and left.
Partially it preserved as a regular park with radially-beam layout. In the second half of the XIX century, the park was redesigned in the landscape. It paved winding paths instead of straight avenues.
After the accession of the Commonwealth to the Russian Empire, Catherine II gave to General Stanislav Ruban, who sold it to Prince Franciszek Xavier Drutsk-Lyubetsky.
In 1953, the old residence of the last Polish king was transferred to Grodno Agricultural Institute. This explains the fact that in the ancient alleys imposingly sits in a chair with a dreamy expression on his face stone Timiriazev.
In 1982-1983 this once rural area of Grodno at the center of modern buildings. During these years, the city government cared little monuments. Thank you, and the fact that the building was maintained regular redecorating.
Now in the palace are large-scale restoration works. The authorities promise to restore itself and the residence of the last Polish king, and outbuildings, and garden complex.
